Use Headphones and a Soundbar at the Same Time

Use the transmitter's bypass output so the wireless headphones and soundbar can play TV audio at the same time.

Before connecting the soundbar

Make sure TV audio is already playing correctly through the wireless headphones. Then add the soundbar using HDMI ARC or Optical.

Choose Your Soundbar Connection

Select the connection your soundbar uses to see the setup.

Option 1 HDMI ARC Use this if the soundbar has an HDMI ARC port. Option 2 Optical Use this if the soundbar has an Optical input.

Option 1: HDMI ARC Soundbar

Connect the TV to the transmitter, then use the HDMI ARC bypass output to send the same audio to the soundbar.

Connect the TV

Connect the TV's HDMI ARC / eARC port to HDMI ARC 1 on the transmitter.

Connect the Soundbar

Connect HDMI ARC 2 on the transmitter to the soundbar's HDMI ARC port.

Select HDMI ARC 1+2

Set the transmitter's SELECT INPUT switch to HDMI ARC 1+2.

SELECT INPUT → HDMI ARC 1+2

Set the Soundbar to HDMI ARC

Select HDMI ARC as the soundbar input and adjust its volume as needed.

Check the Audio Signal

Check the transmitter's HDMI ARC 1+2 indicator. A solid white light indicates a valid audio signal.

Expected result

TV audio plays through both the wireless headphones and the HDMI ARC soundbar.

Option 2: Optical Soundbar

Connect the TV to the transmitter's Optical input, then use the Optical bypass output to send the same audio to the soundbar.

Connect the TV

Connect an Optical cable from the TV's Optical OUT port to the transmitter's Optical input.

Connect the Soundbar

Connect another Optical cable from the transmitter's Optical bypass / speaker output to the soundbar's Optical IN.

Select Optical on the Transmitter

Set the transmitter's input selector to the position used for the Optical connection.

Transmitter Input → OPT / Optical

Set the TV Audio Format to PCM

Select Optical / Digital Audio Out on the TV and set the digital audio format to PCM.

Find PCM Settings for Your TV

Set the Soundbar to Optical

Select Optical as the soundbar input and adjust the soundbar volume as needed.

Expected result

TV audio plays through both the wireless headphones and the Optical soundbar.

Not Hearing Sound From Both?

Headphones work, but the soundbar has no sound

Make sure the soundbar is connected to the transmitter's bypass / speaker output and that the soundbar input matches the connection you are using.

Using HDMI ARC

Confirm the transmitter is set to HDMI ARC 1+2 and the soundbar is set to HDMI ARC.

Using Optical

Confirm the TV is using Optical / Digital Audio Out and the digital audio format is set to PCM.

Neither the headphones nor soundbar has sound

Check the TV audio output, transmitter input, and cable connections. The transmitter must first receive a valid TV audio signal before it can pass audio to the soundbar.

HDMI ARC still not working

Make sure the HDMI cable is ARC-compatible. If eARC is enabled on the TV, turn it off and test standard ARC.

How to Disable eARC

Headphone and soundbar volume are controlled separately.

Adjust personal listening volume on the headphones and room volume using the soundbar's own controls.
