C171 – Phone Not Detecting the Earbuds?

If your phone does not recognize the C171, try these steps in order.

Step 1 – Unplug and Reconnect the C171

Unplug the C171 from your phone.
Wait 5 seconds.
Plug it firmly back into the USB-C port.
Play music or a video to test.

Important: Make sure the USB-C plug goes in completely. A phone case can sometimes prevent a full connection.

Step 2 – Remove the Phone Case

If your phone has a case, remove it and connect the C171 directly to the phone.

Remove the phone case.
Unplug the C171.
Plug the C171 directly into the phone and test again.

Also check the USB-C port for visible dust or debris.

Be careful: Do not put metal or sharp objects inside the USB-C port.

Step 3 – Check the OTG Setting

Some phones require OTG to be turned ON before they recognize a USB-C audio device.

First, unplug the C171 from your phone.

On your phone, go to:

Settings → Search → Type “OTG”

If you see an OTG setting:

Turn OTG ON.
Plug the C171 back into your phone.
Wait a few seconds.
Play music or a video to test.

Good to Know: On some phones, OTG may turn OFF automatically after about 10 minutes of inactivity. If the C171 stops being detected later, turn OTG ON again.

Can't Find “OTG” in Your Phone Settings?

That's okay. Not every phone shows an OTG setting.

If you cannot find OTG, continue to Step 4.

Step 4 – Try the C171 With Another USB-C Device

If possible, connect the C171 to another compatible USB-C phone, tablet, or computer.

C171 works on another device?

The earbuds are likely working. The issue may be related to the original phone's USB-C connection, settings, or compatibility.

C171 is not detected on another compatible device either?
