Most Avantree TV headphones are Bluetooth-based, allowing you to use them with both classic TVs and Bluetooth-supporting smart TVs.
For classic TVs: You can connect the transmitter—most of which also function as a charging base—to your TV's audio output, using either an optical, AUX, or RCA port. The Avantree Opera Plus, as well as the upcoming Crescendo, also support HDMI ARC connections.
For smart TVs: You have two options:
1. Standalone Bluetooth connection
Connect your Avantree headphones directly to your TV's built-in Bluetooth.
Pros:
- Eliminates the need for cables & transmitter setup
- Allows headphone use even when all TV audio ports are in use
Cons:
- Potential audio delays that can result in unsynchronized audio & visuals
- Shorter range & a less stable connection
- No automatic reconnections
2. Using the headphones as a set with the transmitter (recommended)
Even with a smart TV, you can connect the transmitter to your TV and use the headphones that way, just like with a classic TV.
Pros:
- Ultra-low latency for a perfectly synced visual & audio experience
- Longer range & a more stable connection
- Automatic reconnections
- Ability to add more headphones, each with their own volume controls
Cons:
- Additional connection steps
- Occupies one of your TV's audio ports
