Oasis Plus: 4 Important Things to Know Before You Start

Before using your Avantree Oasis Plus Bluetooth transmitter, please review these 4 important tips.

They can help you avoid common problems such as Bluetooth connection failures, no sound, incorrect audio settings, and audio delay.

Put Your Headphones into Bluetooth Pairing Mode

If Oasis Plus cannot connect to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers, make sure they are in Bluetooth pairing mode.

Important: Simply turning on your headphones does not always put them into pairing mode.

Also make sure your headphones are not already connected to another device, such as a phone, tablet, or computer.

What Should I Do If My Headphones Will Not Connect?

Temporarily turn off Bluetooth on nearby phones, tablets, or computers that may automatically connect to your headphones.
Manually activate Bluetooth pairing mode on your headphones or speakers.
Put Oasis Plus into Bluetooth pairing mode using the instructions in its setup guide.
Keep both devices close together and allow them to connect.

If you are unsure how to activate pairing mode on your headphones, refer to their user manual.

Remember: Both devices must be ready to pair, and your headphones should not be connected to another Bluetooth device.

Select the Correct Audio Input: OPT or AUX

Oasis Plus has two audio input options. The selected input must match the cable you are using to connect it to your TV.

Find This Button on Oasis Plus

AUX OPT Press the AUX / OPT button once to switch between input modes.

OPT Optical Cable

Select OPT when using a digital optical / TOSLINK cable.

AUX 3.5 mm / RCA

Select AUX when using a 3.5 mm audio cable or RCA connection.

Quick Check: If you are using an optical cable, select OPT. If you are using a 3.5 mm or RCA cable, select AUX.

Why Is There No Sound Even Though Bluetooth Is Connected?

Oasis Plus may be receiving audio from the wrong input.

Check which cable connects your TV to Oasis Plus, then press the AUX / OPT button to select the corresponding input.

If you are using an optical cable, also check the PCM setting in Tip 3 below.

Using Optical? Set Your TV Audio Format to PCM

When Oasis Plus is connected to your TV using a digital optical cable, your TV's audio output format must be set to PCM.

✓ PCM Supported audio format

✕ Dolby / DTS Not supported

Important: Oasis Plus does not support Dolby or DTS audio formats through its optical input. Selecting an unsupported format may result in no sound.

How to Change Your TV Audio Format

TV Settings Sound / Audio Output

PCM Digital Audio Format

Open your TV's Sound or Audio Settings, find the Digital Audio Output Format setting, and select PCM.

Note: Menu names vary by TV brand and model. The setting may also be called Digital Audio Out, SPDIF Format, or Audio Format.

What If I Cannot Find the PCM Setting?

Check the Sound or Advanced Audio section of your TV settings.

Some TVs display PCM only after the audio output has been set to Optical or External Speaker.

Refer to your TV manufacturer's instructions for the exact menu location.

Understand Bluetooth Audio Delay

The Bluetooth headphones or speakers you use with Oasis Plus can affect audio delay.

If your headphones do not support aptX Low Latency or FastStream, you may experience a noticeable delay between the TV picture and the sound.

Possible Audio Delay Up to 200 ms When using headphones without aptX Low Latency or FastStream support

For Better Lip-Sync: Use Bluetooth headphones that support aptX Low Latency or FastStream. Both the transmitter and headphones must support the same low-latency codec to benefit.

Why Does the Sound Not Match the TV Picture?

Bluetooth audio transmission takes time. The amount of delay depends on the Bluetooth audio codec used by both devices.

Headphones without a compatible low-latency codec may have a more noticeable delay when watching TV.

Check your headphone specifications to confirm whether they support aptX Low Latency or FastStream.
