What Does the HAX06 Do?

HAX06 takes audio from your TV's HDMI ARC port and provides Optical, RCA, or HDMI ARC output for your audio equipment.

CHECK THIS FIRST

HAX06 is not a universal HDMI audio extractor.

It must connect to your TV's port labeled HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC. If your TV uses eARC, turn eARC OFF so the connection operates in standard ARC mode.

Your TV Must Meet These Requirements

Use HDMI ARC / eARC Connect HAX06 to the TV port specifically labeled ARC or eARC.

Turn eARC Off HAX06 uses standard HDMI ARC and does not support eARC mode.

Use PCM When Needed Set the TV's Digital Audio Format to PCM when using Optical or RCA output.

What Can You Connect?

Choose the output that matches your setup.

Optical / RCA Device

Connect a compatible transmitter, speaker system, amplifier, or other audio device.

HDMI ARC Soundbar

Connect your soundbar to the HAX06 HDMI ARC OUT port.

Both at the Same Time

Keep your HDMI ARC soundbar while also sending audio to Optical or RCA.

HAX06 Does Not Accept HDMI Source Devices Directly

Do not connect Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, game consoles, or similar HDMI sources directly to HAX06.
Do not use a standard HDMI output from a laptop, monitor, or projector.
Connect those devices to the TV instead. HAX06 receives audio back from the TV through HDMI ARC.

What Does the BYPASS Switch Do?

BYPASS ON

Using an HDMI ARC Soundbar

Enables HDMI ARC OUT so your soundbar can work while Optical or RCA audio is also available.

BYPASS OFF

Optical / RCA Only

Use this when you do not need audio sent through the HDMI ARC OUT connection.

HAX05 vs. HAX06

Like HAX05, HAX06 converts TV HDMI ARC audio for other audio devices.

HAX06 is HDMI certified and improves ARC reconnection after the unit has been powered off and back on. HAX06 still requires eARC to be turned off.

TV Remote Volume Control

If your TV and soundbar support HDMI-CEC, your TV remote can control the device connected through HDMI ARC OUT. This does not control devices connected through Optical or RCA.

HAX06 Connected but Not Working?

Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the TV port labeled HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC.
Reconnect the HDMI cable firmly at both ends.
Turn eARC OFF in the TV settings.
Make sure ARC and HDMI-CEC are enabled on the TV.
Set the TV's Digital Audio Format to PCM when using Optical or RCA output.
Use a high-quality HDMI 2.0 or newer cable.
