Auracast (Bluetooth LE Audio) typically has 40–60 ms latency, which is normal and expected behavior.
The delay is often more noticeable in smaller churches or rooms, where listeners may be seated closer to the PA speakers. In most worship environments, the latency becomes much less noticeable during live services than during bench testing.
To minimize the perceived delay in real use, we recommend:
Avoid seating listeners too close to the main PA speakers, as physical sound travels about 17 meters in 50 ms and distance naturally helps align audio.
Use over-ear headphones with good acoustic isolation to reduce direct sound leakage from the PA.
Balance headphone and PA volume, ensuring headphones are set at a comfortable level or slightly lowering PA volume in headphone-focused areas.
For this reason, we typically recommend Aria Aura over-ear headphones for church and worship use, as they provide better isolation and a more natural listening experience when Auracast is used alongside a live PA system.
