If you're experiencing poor audio quality, pitch fluctuations, or distortion when playing music via the AUX input of your Harmony 2 / Quartet 2 (Avantree Flex) transmitter—but speech or spoken content sounds normal—this is likely due to an input level compatibility issue.
🔍 Cause:
The AUX input on Harmony 2 is designed for consumer-level line output (~1V RMS).
However, many professional mixers, soundboards, or DJ equipment output a much stronger line signal (up to 4–6V), especially on music channels. This overloads the transmitter’s analog input, leading to:
Distortion, clipping, or compression artifacts
Audio pitch wobble or instability
Music sounding worse than speech (due to broader frequency and dynamics)
✅ Solution:
If you're using a mixer or audio console (e.g., in restaurants, churches, or live performances), please:
🎚️ Lower the Output Signal:
Reduce the master output level of your mixer or AUX send to 25–30%.
If your mixer has multiple outputs, use a “Record Out” or “Monitor Out” port instead of the main out (they’re usually lower level).
🔌 Optional:
Use a passive inline attenuator (e.g., -10dB or -20dB) between the mixer and the Harmony AUX port to ensure signal stays within range.
Double-check EQ or gain boost settings on music channels — aggressive bass/treble boosts may cause imbalance.
