How Do I Use the Boombyte Menu & Settings?

Boombyte has two different menus. The button press you use determines which menu opens.

The Most Important Thing to Remember

Press ⚙ / OK once → Opens the settings for the mode you are using now.

Press and hold ⚙ / OK → Opens System Settings.

Step 1 – Open the Menu You Need

Press ⚙ / OK once

Opens settings for the mode you are using now, such as FM Radio, Bluetooth, or MicroSD.

Press and hold ⚙ / OK

Opens System Settings for the screen, timer, voice prompts, reset, and firmware information.

Step 2 – Move Through the Menu

Press SEEK > or < SEEK to move through the choices.
Press ⚙ / OK to select the highlighted choice.
Select Return to go back.

What Can I Change in System Settings?

Press and hold ⚙ / OK to open System Settings.

Use SEEK > or < SEEK to find the setting you want, then press ⚙ / OK to select it.

Backlight

What it does: Controls how long the screen light stays on after you use a button.

Available choices: 0 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes.

Use a shorter time to reduce screen light. Use a longer time if you need more time to read the display.

Shutdown Timer

What it does: Sets Boombyte to turn off automatically after a selected amount of time.

Available choices: 0 seconds, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes.

This is useful if you listen before sleeping or do not want Boombyte to stay on continuously.

Contrast

What it does: Changes the contrast of the information shown on the screen.

Adjust this if the words or numbers on the display are difficult to see.

Voice Settings

What it does: Controls the Boombyte voice prompts.

ON: Boombyte gives voice prompts during operation.

OFF: Voice prompts are disabled.

Factory Reset

What it does: Returns Boombyte to its original factory settings.

Use this when Boombyte is not working normally and you want to start again with fresh settings.

Important: Factory Reset clears saved FM stations and Bluetooth pairing history.

Firmware Version

What it does: Shows the software version currently installed on your Boombyte.

Avantree Support may ask for this version when helping with a technical problem.

Return: Select this option when you want to leave the current menu and go back.

How Do I Open FM Radio Settings?

Press FM to enter FM Radio mode.
Press ⚙ / OK once.
Use SEEK > or < SEEK to choose an option.

Auto-searching

Automatically searches for available FM stations.

Common Band

Uses the standard FM frequency range.

Campus Band

Uses the lower FM frequency range, including approximately 76–90 MHz.

Delete

Removes a saved FM station.

How Do I Open Bluetooth Settings?

Make sure Boombyte is in Bluetooth mode.
Press ⚙ / OK once.
Select Equalizer.

The Equalizer changes the sound profile.

You can choose Natural, Rock, Pop, Classic, Jazz, or Soft.

Not sure which one to use? Start with Natural.

How Do I Open MicroSD Music Settings?

Insert your MicroSD card.
Make sure Boombyte is playing from the MicroSD card.
Press ⚙ / OK once.

Repeat / Shuffle

Choose Repeat All, Repeat One, Shuffle, or Repeat Folder.

Local Folder

Browse music stored in folders on your MicroSD card.

Delete File

Deletes the selected music file from the MicroSD card.

Be careful: Only select Delete File if you are sure you no longer need that file.
