HF2039 – Part 1: Power On and Connect

Follow these 3 steps to connect your HF2039 headphones to your TV.

Before You Start

Have your HF2039 headphones, DAC converter, USB power cable, and audio cables ready.

Step 1 – Power ON the DAC Converter

Connect the included USB power cable to the DAC converter.
Plug the other end into your TV's USB port or a 5V USB wall charger (500mA–2A).
Make sure the power source is turned ON.

Note: If using your TV's USB port, the TV must be ON to supply power.

Step 2 – Connect the DAC to Your TV

Choose ONE connection method below, depending on your TV's available audio output.

Option A – Optical Connection (Recommended)

Use this if your TV has a port labeled OPTICAL OUT, DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL), or SPDIF OUT.

Connect one end of the Optical cable to your TV's OPTICAL OUT port.
Connect the other end to the OPTICAL INPUT on the DAC converter.

Port Shape: Optical uses a rectangular port.

Option B – Coaxial Connection

Use this if your TV has a port labeled COAXIAL OUT or DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (COAXIAL).

Connect one end of a Coaxial audio cable to your TV's COAXIAL OUT port.
Connect the other end to the COAXIAL INPUT on the DAC converter.

Port Shape: Coaxial uses a round port.

Note: A Coaxial audio cable is not included and must be purchased separately.

Step 3 – Connect Your Headphones

Find the AUDIO OUTPUT port on the DAC converter.
Connect the included 3.5mm AUX cable to the DAC's audio output.
Connect the other end to your HF2039 headphones.
Turn ON your TV and play a program to test the sound.

Connected! Your headphones are now physically connected to the DAC converter.

Using Optical? Adjust Your TV Audio Settings

If you connected your TV using an Optical cable, you may need to change your TV's audio format to PCM.

Open your TV's Settings.
Go to Sound or Audio Settings.
Select Optical or Digital Audio Out as the sound output.
Set the digital audio format to PCM.

No Sound or Static Noise?

Check that the USB power cable is connected.
Make sure the audio cable is connected to the TV's OUT port and the DAC's INPUT port.
Check that the headphone cable is fully inserted.
If using Optical, confirm that your TV's digital audio format is set to PCM.

Important: The DAC converts digital audio to analog audio. It does not amplify sound. Headphones or speakers that need additional amplification may require a separate amplifier.
