Quick Start – How Do I Use the E171?

The E171 is a wired earbud. Bluetooth pairing is not required.

Connect the E171

Plug the E171 firmly into your device's 3.5 mm headphone port, then play music, a video, or make a call.

How Do I Use the E171 Buttons?

The inline remote lets you control common music and calling functions.

Play / Pause
Track controls
Answer / End calls
Reject calls
Voice assistant
Microphone

Important: The built-in volume controls are not supported by every device. See Volume Buttons Not Working? below for compatibility information.

Something Isn't Working?

Volume Buttons Not Working?

The E171's built-in volume controls are not supported by every device.

The built-in volume control does not work with:

PCs
Laptops
iOS MP3 players

On these phones, the Volume + button does not work:

Google Pixel 3A
Samsung Galaxy A9
Samsung Galaxy S10
Samsung Galaxy Note 9

This does not mean the E171 is defective. If the built-in volume control is not supported, adjust the volume directly on your connected device.

No Sound?

Unplug the E171.
Plug it back in all the way.
Turn up the volume on your device.
Play music or a video again.

Using an adapter? Unplug and reconnect the adapter as well.

Microphone Isn't Working?

Make sure the E171 plug is pushed completely into the headphone port.

Then test the microphone again with a phone call or voice recording.
