Nowadays, most movies & TV shows have Dolby Digital Sound, however, generally speaking, Bluetooth technology can only handle stereo sound and not Dolby, DTS, etc. As a result, if your Netflix/Prime/HBO show is set to Dolby, then you won't get sound through your Bluetooth headphones.
Here's the fix:
1. Open your streaming service on the TV first (VERY IMPORTANT)
Netflix
Prime
2. While your streaming service is open, get your TV remote and press Settings
Netflix
Prime
3. Set your Audio Output to PCM. For example, here's how to do it on a Samsung TV. Go to Sound >> Expert Settings >> Digital Out Audio Format >> PCM
Netflix
Prime
4. Close the Settings and check if you can hear sound on Netflix or Prime Video.
If you're using another device for streaming, such as a Roku, Fire Stick, or Apple TV, you may need to change your settings on that streaming device as well. Read this FAQ.
